Peru 2013 - Dag 7 - Lake Titicaca

Lake Titicaca
In Puno I started to get ill. Stomach hurting and diarrhea. So our boat trip next morning was not relaxed.
Fortunately the boat had some kind of toilet. What we suffered most was the cold wind. We were not sufficiently dressed.
Our first stop was the Uros islands, where indians live on reed islands. The island is prepared for receiving tourists. Probably the other 80 islands are more original, we did not see them because of the reeds growing there.
The next stop was Taquile island. The top is 400m high and has a nice village where the group had lunch. I was feeling so week that I skipped the lunch and walked down slowly. I cannot recall being ever so tired.
Puno had the famous Puno week, with much music and folklore. Because of my feeling weak, we could not enjoy it. On the contrary, we could not sleep during two nights because of the loud music.
We agree with most tourists that the lake is not worth the travel. Puno and the lake may be interesting for historians, the place is not beautiful enough.
