Arriving in Lima
The plane had to cut through a grey layer of clouds to land in Lima North. And there we met another greyness, as the city in that area is covered with grey dust from the cement industry. Not what you would like to see after an exhausting trip.
Then we had a 1-hour taxi ride through the chaotic traffic and arrived in Lima south, that has several flourishing parts: San isidro, Miraflores and Barranco.
We stayed in Barranco, which is a nice old village, now part of Lima.
We decided to do Lima center on the last day of our trip.
As we had just lost our best friend, we had difficulties getting in a holiday mood. I did not make pictures that day. Well, I made one picture, that was during lunch in the famous and crowded Canta Rana, where we had a good ceviche. Our dinner was in world famous Astrid e Gaston.

Gaston is one of the greatest chefs of this moment. He has restaurants all over the world, but started in Lima.
Two month ago we started to contact the restaurant to make a reservation. We booked the El Viaje tasting menu.
As soon as seated, El Viaje starts. You will be given various documents including the El Viaje book, as Gaston takes his tasting menu very seriously. It was all very impressive. We got 24 courses, served be 6 waiters and prepared by 20 cooks. Each course was presented on its own way, all handcrafted. The first course was presented in a small suitcase, the final one in a porcelain piramid.
We described it as a circus de soleil of molecular cooking.
For food lovers like us, this was an unforgettable evening.
